For those of you who are not familiar with extended content labels, essentially, they are a label that wraps around itself to act as a “peel back” portion of a label to provide more room for necessary text. This process is most often seen with nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products as their bottles are quite small (considering the amount of legal information needed on their packaging).
Extended content labels are a great way to stay within strict FDA rules or industry regulations without overwhelming your consumer with a text-heavy label. They are also ideal for small products that cannot fit all of the necessary information on their label parameters.
In addition to the extra room that this process provides, it is also used to hide promotional codes or offers for companies who wish to entice their consumers.
